The Fountain of life is YHVH the Creator and flows from His House. There is a River which flows out from the Throne of God. That River is also described by Daniel as firey in nature and appearance.
In the following verses about the fountain of life, please note, there is no blood mentioned anywhere in these verses referring to the fountain of life.
ESV Psalm 36:8 They (the sons of Adam) feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights (Eden) 9 For with You is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. *Fountain here is not ayin but maqowr or maqor spring, fountain, source of life. Fountain of life both words in Greek feminine singular.
Torah is part of that fountain. Proverbs 13:14 The law Torah of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Reverence and worship of YHVH is part of that fountain. Proverbs 14:27 The fear of YHVH is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Giving in to the wicked pollutes your fountain. Proverbs 25:26 Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.
Jeremiah 2:13 for my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water.
Jeremiah 17:13 O LORD, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you shall be put to shame; those who turn away from you shall be written in the earth, for they have forsaken YHVH, the fountain of living water.
Joel 3:18 "And in that day the mountains shall drip sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the streambeds of Judah shall flow with water; and a fountain shall come forth from the house of YHVH and water the Valley of Shittim: acacia wood.
Zechariah 13:1 "On that day there shall be a fountain opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and uncleanness. On what day? Zechariah 12:10 "And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplications (pleas for mercy), so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.
In that day He removes all idols, false teachers and prophets, and uncleaness. Zechariah 14:2 "And on that day, declares YHVH of the hosts of the armies of heaven, I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, so that they shall be remembered no more. And also I will remove from the land the prophets and the spirit of uncleanness.
Revelation 21:6 And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.
Notice, there is no blood mentioned anywhere in these verses referring to the fountain of life.
John 4:14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty forever. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water leaping and springing up, gushing to eternal life."
23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."
Genesis 49:11 (Jacob prophesying over Judah) Binding his foal to the vine and his donkey's colt to the choice vine, he has washed his garments in wine and his vesture in the blood of grapes. 12 His eyes are darker than wine, and his teeth whiter than milk.
Isaiah 4:3 And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy, everyone who has been recorded for life in Jerusalem, 4 when the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by a spirit of burning. 5 Then the LORD will create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, and smoke and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory there will be a canopy. 6 There will be a booth for shade by day from the heat, and for a refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain.
Numbers 35:33 You shall not pollute the land in which you live, for blood pollutes the land, and no atonement can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, except by the blood of the one who shed it.
Joel 3:21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.
In Hebrew the word for blood is dam and is defined as blood or the blood of the grapes. Dam comes from the root word damam to be silent, still, grow dumb.
Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered (bring or lead to) himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Exodus 40:31 with which Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet.
32 When they went into the tent of meeting, and when they approached the altar, they washed, as the LORD commanded Moses.
Leviticus 8:6 And Moses brought Aaron and his sons and washed them with water. Numbers 8:21 And the Levites purified themselves from sin and washed their clothes, and Aaron offered them as a wave offering before the LORD, and Aaron made atonement (to cover or coat with pitch) for them to cleanse them.
Ezekiel 16:9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.
John 13:10 Yahshua said to him, "The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you."
BLOOD
In John 6:53 “Except ye eat” verb tense is second aorist. Second is same as first aorist where tense is characterized by its emphasis on punctiliar action; that is, the concept of the verb is considered without regard for past, present, or future time. There is no direct or clear English equivalent for this tense, though it is generally rendered as a simple past tense in most translations. Active voice represents the subject "ye" or "you" as the doer of the action. Mood subjunctive is mood of possibility and potentiality. The action described may or may not occur - in this case dependent on "you".
Eat means to consume and in this case, to consume his flesh. However, when Yahshua is described by scripture He is called the Word made flesh. So, when it comes to Yahshua‘s flesh = Word. He also referred to His body as the Temple which repeated is called the House for the Name of YHVH. So, His flesh = the House of the Name YHVH.
Now in verse 54 of John six Yahshua again says Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. Here the verb tense for eat, or feed is present tense NOW. "has eternal life" is also present tense. All in 54 and 55 and 56 is NOW present tense, actual time. Eat in 57 is also present tense, but live is future. "he shall live through Me".
58 THIS IS THE BREAD THAT CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN.
His flesh = bread of heaven. This bread comes (aorist tense) from heaven, has come from heaven, is coming from heaven, and continues to come. So, His flesh = the Word of God. His flesh = the Temple of YHVH’s Name. And His flesh = Bread of Heaven.
NOT as the fathers ate - means physical manna made into physical bread, put into the physical mouth, and eaten with your physical body. NOT THIS WAY. There is NOTHING PHYSICAL to be taken from this passage. It is SPIRIT AND LIFE.
Whoever eats of this Bread - present tense NOW - shall live (future tense) forever.
NOTICE: 59 these things said he in the synagogue AS HE TAUGHT. He is speaking this "bread" unto the people. He is teaching and as He teaches, He says "this is the bread from heaven".
Then many of the disciples heard it and were really offended. Yahshua says "Does this offend you?" Then 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. THE WORDS THAT I HAVE SPOKEN TO YOU ARE SPIRIT AND LIFE.
HE IS CLEARLY STATING THAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT SPIRIT, NOT FLESH. LIFE NOT DEATH. He says, ITS MY WORDS. Talking about His words, ie. spirit, ie. life, NOT His physical body. Not eaten as the fathers ate by putting it into the physical mouth and swallowing it with your flesh.
How many ways does He have to say it before we get it? He is NOT talking about a physical function here!!
64 But there are some of you that believe not...65 And he said, For this cause have I said unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it be given unto him of the Father.
Notice here the strange "666" found in the next verse where they turn back and no longer walk with Him. John 6:66 After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.
67 Yahshua said therefore unto the twelve, Would you also go away? 68 Simon Peter answered him, "Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, 69 and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God."
Simon Peter got it! He knew Yahshua was talking about His words, and he reaffirmed it, and said “we believe”.
John 1:12 But as many as receive Him, to them give He power to become the sons of God, even to them that are believing on His name: 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. He says right here that "we are not born of blood" period.
Yahshua says in John 3:3 unless one is born from above, from up on high, he cannot see (aorist tense)...he cannot perceive, see with recognition the Kingdom of God. 5 Yahshua answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 the wind or Spirit breathes and blows where it wills, has in mind and intent to breathe...so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.
Here again, He emphasizes that He is NOT speaking of physical flesh and blood things. He is talking about the Breath of the Spirit.
Granted that understanding after all this Matthew 26:28 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins...is difficult. How do we take all the vast number of scriptures concerning His word cleansing us and harmonize it with this?? However, remember that the word for blood always has two definitions: blood, and blood of grapes.
Are we missing the meaning of what His cup is? Matthew 26:29 I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom."
His cup from what we just read is "the fruit of the Vine". Psalm 116:13 I will lift up the cup of salvation - the word Yeshuwah and call on the name of YHVH.
Religion who is also part of Babylon is also compared to being a cup. Jeremiah 51:7 Babylon was a golden cup in the LORD's hand, making all the earth drunken; the nations drank of her wine; therefore the nations went mad.
Symbolically, the Cup meant one's lot or experience in life, whether joyous or adverse; Divine Appointments negative or positive; the cup of God's wrath. So when Yahshua said to James and John "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am to drink?" They said to him, "We are able." Mt. 20:22 He was speaking of sharing His cup of life with the good and the bad, with the times of joy and the times of sorrow. "And He said to them, 'You will drink My cup'." Matthew 26:39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will."John 18:11 So Jesus said to Peter, "Put your sword into its sheath; shall I not drink the cup that the Father has given me?"
42 Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, "My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done."
The cup also speaks of the inner man. Partaking of the cup is an inward work of cleansing. Matthew 23:25 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean. Rev. 17:4 in the hand of the Great Whore is a golden cup full of abominations and impurities, even the unclean things of her fornication.
So, when He offered the cup to His disciples telling them all to drink, was He speaking of a. following in His life and footsteps b. the fruit of the vine or c. the blood, blood of grapes?
John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
Each one must eat of the fruit of their own way. Proverbs 1:31 "Now they must eat the fruit of their own way, and with their own devices be glutted.”
************************ Well what about in 1 John where the cleansing blood is mentioned? 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Yahshua his Son cleanses us from all sin.
Taken in context this verse is conditional. It is not conditional on the "sinner's prayer", nor is it attained by simply saying it over and over. It is conditional in context with "walking in the light (now present tense) as He is in the Light".
Very close to Isaiah 2:5 O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of YHVH; With Isaiah 8:20 To the Law Torah and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Proverbs 6:23 For the Commandment is a lamp; and the Law is LIGHT; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: (remember that Yahshua is called all these things also)
John 3:20 For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Yahshua is the Light, He is the Way, He is the Word... John 1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. Because Yahshua is the Word made flesh: John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and did tabernacle among us. This is all aorist tense verbage which means His word becomes (with no regard for time) flesh and does (no time frame here) tabernacles in us. Not among us as the King James says but IN US. His word becomes flesh IN US and tabernacles IN US. That is huge! That is life-changing eternal BEING His word!
