Acts 1:12 has the following statement regarding the day of Yahshua’s ascension. But, this translation is incorrect and misleading.
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, aSabbath day's journey away.
The Greek word for "Sabbath" is correctly translated. The word “day's” is not there in the Greek , it is added by the translators to make sense of their translation.
The Greek word for “journey” is “hodos,” and it means “a way.” It can be translated, as it is twenty-seven times, as a highway or road. There is another meaning, sixty-three times it is translated as “a way” as in the following verses:
“… we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God in truth …” [Matthew 22:16].
“Make ready the way of the Lord, make His paths straight” [Luke 3:4].
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life …” [John 14:6].
The Greek word for “away” here is “echo,” and means ”to hold or to have.” For example, in the NAS it is translated 284 times as “have,” and 54 times as “having.” It is also translated as ”experiencing,” or as keeping something.
Now a more accurate translation of this passage is:
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, holding/keeping the way of the Sabbath.
On what day did Yahshua ascend into heaven? It was on a Sabbath. Therefore, on the day Yahshua ascended, they were “keeping the way of the Sabbath”! Do you see, they gathered on the Mount of Olives to keep the Sabbath!
Now to continue with this amazing evidence. Acts 1:3 states that Yahshua was with them 40 days inclusive counting from the Ressurection.
Having established that “Ascension Day” was a Sabbath, we can count back the 40 days that the Messiah spent with His disciples after his resurrection and arrive at the day of the week Yahshua resurrected on. Let’s not assume that the Sabbath was on a Saturday, but label the days of the week as the Hebrew’s did, the 1st day, 2nd day and so forth to the Sabbath on the 7th day.

It was the 3rd day of the week! This is the day Yahshua said he would be raised on. Here are the scriptures with the evidence for the “third day”.
Matt. 16:21: ” – on the third day he raised from death. Matt. 17:23: “ --- on the third day -----
Matt. 20:19: And deliver Him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and whipped and crucified, and He will be raised to (life) on the third day.
Mark 9:31: “And after He is killed He will be raised up the third day”
Mark 10:34, Luke 9:22, Luke 18:33, Luke 24:7, Luke 24:21, Luke 24:46, Hosea 6:2
This understanding of the facts from scripture shows us that neither the 1st day of the week , as held by most Christians, or the 7th day of the week , as held by most Sabbath keeping Christians, was the day Messiah rose from the dead. What is going on here? Something is wrong with traditionally held beliefs. We can begin to see even more when we add in the fact that he was in the grave for three days.

Messiah was crucified on the seventh day of the week, which was also Passover, the 14th day of the first month. Now we can see the 3 Sabbaths Matt 28:1 mentions.
1- Messiah is sacrificed on the Sabbath, Passover the 14th
2- The Jew's High Sabbath day of the 15th
3- The Jew's Sabbath messiah rose on early in the morning
